Missed our first virtual workshop in the Survival IS Profit series? Here are some of the highlights from the discussion between Mr. Christopher Ng from Trinity42 and Pn. Fozia from Alliance Bank.
How can Businesses Gain an Upper Edge for More Online Customers?
In our Q&A session, our viewers had an opportunity to voice out their questions and business concerns. Here is how our team responded. An edited transcript for better clarity and grammar is added below the video.
"I think, like Pn. Fozia also mentioned, Alliance bank also launched a lot of platforms suitable for the SMEs, that can be used to market to the ready community that Alliance Bank already gathered. Of course, in terms of digital marketing, there are many aspects to look at, like the funnel that I shared just now.
"Awareness - People need to be aware of your brand, your service or your products.
"Then, you need to drive people to the second stage to get people to consider you, like the value propositions you have, the game creator you're providing, or the pain points that you are relieving.
"Then, these people can come and connect with you. While they're considering you, or negotiating the services and products with you, offer them good engagement so that you can push them down the funnel and ultimately convert them into your clients.
"The process does not stop there. You'd still have to continue the clients' experience or the clients' journey to make sure that they can become your returning customers; Those customers can become your raving fans - and help you spread the word about your brand to the public.
"That's what you want in terms of digital marketing aspect. That's how you can get an edge there. "

Pn. Fozia also agreed with Mr. Christopher Ng's statement, adding her input about the importance of social media marketing as well as how one should respond to any feedback and criticisms they receive:
"Christopher, I think you also talked about social media content earlier. I think that helps you get an edge as well, because you know exactly who you're targeting or what your customer base is like.
"Everytime you go out and put your product out there, you need to be open to feedbacks. Feedbacks are not negative. They are supposed to help you improve. So, everytime you get feedbacks, you can make adjustments. Try different elements to fit what people want and then go out, get in the market and see how the amended products are accepted.
"For us, the first step to take is to get on to the digital platform to get ourselves seen. That is important. Then, from there, you improve it for the better.
---
Of course, it is also important to manage your clients' feedbacks. As Mr. Christopher Ng responded to Pn. Fozia's statements about responding to clients' feedback effectively, he reminds the public that it's also important to move on from unnecessarily negative comments we receive on social media at times.
"For many years, PanPages TRINITY Group has been been trying to evangelize the importance of digital marketing. We had some clients who, prior to going digital, had a fear of doing so. "What if I have this Facebook page, and someone decides to drop a negative comment? What can I do? It would be bad for my company branding!"
"About this concern, I think in this internet world now, the truth is what it is. If you're not very good in your business, it's good to gather feedback and adjust accordingly. Appreciate those comments. Having said that, there are also some doom-sayers, very negative people online. You're addressing a mass market online, and so there will be people who don't appreciate your work and all. So, we move on.
"If you're a star and you'res attracting all these negative feedback, maybe you need to change your business model or the way you do business. Or maybe you are actually getting all this feedback and these naysayers as well, then you just move on and continue to be sincere in doing the best you can to provide value to your clients and let people know about it. It would be better than you hiding away and nobody knows you exist.
"Be there, exist, let people know who you are and welcome feedback. I totally agree with Puan Fozia."
