So we know that Alibaba is catering to various business needs. There’s Taobao for B2C sales and Alibaba.com for B2B sales, as an example.

Recently, Alibaba also came up with something more - perhaps even unexpected.

Alibaba Released Two New Fonts - Alibaba Sans & Alibaba PuHuiTi

Two new fonts, Alibaba Sans (Latin W1G) and Alibaba PuHuiTi (Simplified Chinese) were released to free of charge to Alibaba partners , sellers and users. You can download them from the links above.

These fonts were debuted at the company’s annual UCAN design conference in Hangzhou, China on the 27th of April.

The Alibaba Sans font was designed with an energetic and young vibe in mind.

Chris TUng, the Alibaba Chief Marketing Officer, said, “We would like to make this new typeface an inclusive resource for all our partners and customers across the globe, and for free. True to our group mission, we are taking a concrete step forward to helping small and medium-sized enterprises to participate in the digital economy through the power of design.”

Indeed, these fonts are a way for Alibaba to reach out to businesses of all sizes, helping them with a font that they can use for their designs - whether it is for brochures, websites, mini sites or any other digital assets that they need a design for.

No more typical Arial, Calibri or Times New Roman-based digital assets!

Even the Alibaba Sans font comes with plenty of varieties - 7,205 Latin letters in 11 different weights and available in 172 different languages. It is designed to appear highly legible even on small-sized screens, and still have the same design effect even across large format printings - such as on a banner for an office.

Alibaba.com vendors can use this font to design mini sites or information posters for their products. Users should have no problem browsing through the products with this font from their phone or tablet devices, since these fonts are suitable for smaller screen sizes as well.

Meanwhile, the Alibaba PuHuiTi typeface, created by Yihong Tao from HanYi Fonts, and includes a total of 116,895 Chinese characters in five different weights. That’s quite amazing, isn’t it?
